People have come to us for the past few years requesting we build
OILSKIN TARPS for "Trekking". We have done so on a limited basis.
Constructed of the same fabric as our WATCHCOATS, the oil and
wax finished cotton makes a wonderful tarp for a great early feel. The dark
brown fabric starts at 6.5 oz. per square yard but the oil and wax bring
the finished weight very close to the standard Sunforger Army Duck. You
will not save a great deal of weight but the tarps do roll smaller and have
a more "period" look.
